Après avoir obtenu un baccalauréat général et un CAP en ébénisterie, Marie Chastagnol a intégré l'Ecole Nationale de Lutherie à Mirecourt, dans les Vosges, berceau de la lutherie et de l'archèterie françaises. Pendant cette période, elle a pu réaliser deux stages en milieu professionnel : l'un chez Jean-Frédéric Schmitt à Lyon et l'autre au sein de l’Atelier d’Arthur à Paris avec Arthur Dubroca et Alexandre Aumont. Ce fut là l'occasion pour elle de faire ses premiers pas en archèterie. Après l'obtention du Diplôme des Métiers d'Art en Lutherie et un court passage dans l'atelier de Yann Ullern à Paris, elle a travaillé pendant quatre ans (2008-2012) dans l'atelier de Juliette Desmarchelier et Yannick Le Canu à Lille. Elle a ensuite travaillé pendant un an en tant qu'archetière de l'atelier d'Olivier Pérot à Montréal, au Québec. L'occasion se présente à elle en 2013 de revenir en France pour travailler avec Georges Tépho à Quimper. Elle y crée son propre atelier en 2017, lorsque celui-ci décide de transférer son activité à Paris. Elle poursuit sa collaboration avec lui et travaille ponctuellement avec d'autres archetiers comme Eric Fournier ou Emmanuel Bégin pour peaufiner sa technique en fabrication d'archets haut de gamme.
Parallèlement à son travail en fabrication, elle assure l'entretien et la réparation des archets appartenant ou confiés à l'Atelier St Marc.
Elle est membre, depuis sa création en 2018, du Collectif de Lutherie et d'Archèterie Contemporaines, où elle peut vous accueillir sur rendez-vous.

Marie Chastagnol attended the National School of Violin-making in Mirecourt, France, for three years. While studying there, she spent a few weeks in the workshop of Jean-Frédéric Schmitt in Lyon and with Arthur Dubroca and Alexandre Aumont in Paris. She made there her first steps in bow-making. After passing her degree at Mirecourt in 2007, she worked for four years in the workshop of Yannick Le Canu in Lille. After that, she was employed as a bow-maker by Olivier Pérot in his Montreal, Canada, workshop. In 2013, she started to work with Georges Tépho, in Quimper, France. In 2017, she decided to create her own workshop in Quimper when Georges Tépho moved to Paris. She carries on working with bow-makers like Eric Fournier and Emmanuel Bégin to refine her technique.
She is member of the new french contemporary violin & bow-making group : the Collectif de Lutherie et d'Archèterie Comtemporaines where she can arrange a suitable appointment with you.
